Whirlpool of India reported its highest revenue in the past year for the quarter ended June 2026, but net profit fell sharply compared with the same quarter last year. Revenue grew 12% year-on-year to ₹2,727 crore, while net profit dropped 29% to ₹103 crore. Other expenses grew faster than revenue, contributing to margin compression and a lower pre-tax profit.
Revenue from operations for the June 2026 quarter was ₹2,726.75 crore, a 12.1% increase from ₹2,432.32 crore in the same quarter last year. Compared with the March 2026 quarter, revenue rose 25.0% from ₹2,180.77 crore. This is the highest revenue level in the past year, surpassing the previous year’s June quarter.
Profit before tax (PBT) fell 29.4% year-on-year to ₹138.75 crore from ₹196.44 crore. Net profit dropped 29.6% to ₹102.88 crore from ₹146.08 crore. Tax expense declined 28.8% to ₹35.87 crore, so the decline in pre-tax profit drove the bottom-line movement. Basic earnings per share fell to ₹8.11 from ₹11.49, a decline of 29.4%. There were no exceptional items during the quarter, as profit before exceptional items and tax equalled PBT.
Other expenses increased 15.4% year-on-year to ₹439.26 crore, compared with ₹380.74 crore in the year-ago quarter. This growth outpaced the 12.1% revenue increase, contributing to margin compression. The PBT margin declined from 8.1% to 5.1%. Finance costs remained nearly flat at ₹14.77 crore, down 2.9% from ₹15.21 crore, so they did not materially affect the profit decline.
On a sequential basis, revenue grew 25.0% from the March 2026 quarter, and PBT rose 26.3%. The March quarter had lower revenue and profit, so the sharp sequential improvement partly reflects a rebound from a slower period. In the previous fiscal year, the June quarter also recorded the highest revenue, suggesting a seasonal pattern.
Revenue reached a new high, but profitability declined year-on-year as other expenses grew faster than revenue, compressing margins. The sequential improvement from the March quarter reflects a seasonal rebound, while the year-on-year profit decline indicates that cost growth outpaced revenue growth.

Whirlpool of India reported double-digit consolidated revenue growth of 12% YoY to Rs 2,727 Cr in Q1 FY27, driven by market share gains, industry volume growth, price increases, and premiumisation, according to management. However, consolidated PBT fell 29% YoY to Rs 139 Cr due to significant commodity inflation, geopolitical instability, higher crude oil prices, currency depreciation, cost upcharges from new energy regulations, and incremental E-waste provisions. Management partially mitigated these pressures through price increases and the P4G program delivering cost efficiencies across the P&L. The Faridabad factory achieved record quarterly volumes despite war-led supply chain challenges, and subsidiary Elica India sustained strong growth with 26% revenue and 22% PBT improvement.
