In the three months ended 30 June 2026, Intellect Design Arena reported revenue from operations of ₹845.17 crore, a 20.45% increase over the same period last year. However, the quarter saw revenue edge down 0.22% from the March 2026 level while total expenses rose, pulling pre‑tax profit 15.34% lower sequentially. Net profit grew 8.68% year on year, but total comprehensive income fell 25.25% because of a sharp contraction in the amounts recorded outside the profit line.
Revenue from operations held near the prior quarter’s level at ₹845.17 crore, down only 0.22% from ₹847.02 crore. Over the past year the business expanded its top line substantially, with revenue climbing from ₹701.69 crore in June 2025. The quarterly revenue series contains one notable outlier – the September 2025 quarter at ₹1,459.78 crore – but the latest two quarters sit at the upper end of the range.
Total income, which includes revenue and other sources, was ₹873.24 crore, a decline of ₹11.24 crore from the March 2026 quarter. The fall did not come from operations; revenue was nearly unchanged. Instead, the gap between total income and revenue narrowed from ₹37.45 crore in March to ₹28.07 crore in June, reflecting lower other income. That drop fed directly into the profit decline during the quarter.
Expenses increased to ₹737.81 crore, a sequential rise of ₹13.31 crore or 1.84%. Year on year, expenses grew 21.37%, outpacing the 20.45% growth in revenue from operations, so costs claimed a slightly larger share of revenue than a year earlier.
When measured against total income, expenses consumed 84.5% in June 2026, up from 81.9% in the prior quarter and 82.8% in June 2025. The combination of lower total income and higher expenses resulted in a pre‑tax profit of ₹135.43 crore, a 15.34% decline from ₹159.97 crore in March. The arithmetic is direct: the ₹11.24 crore fall in income plus the ₹13.31 crore rise in expenses account for the ₹24.54 crore drop in pre‑tax profit.
A tax expense of ₹33.34 crore was charged against pre‑tax profit, comprising ₹31.36 crore in current tax and ₹1.98 crore in deferred tax. The effective tax rate was approximately 24.6%, broadly in line with the 24.9% recorded a year earlier.
After tax, the profit for the period stood at ₹101.82 crore. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was ₹7.34, compared with ₹6.85 a year ago. The identical figure for basic earnings per share from continuing and discontinued operations (₹7.34) indicates no material impact from discontinued activities in the current period.
Net profit rose 8.68% year on year, yet comprehensive income fell 25.25% to ₹103.60 crore. The divergence stems from movements that do not flow through the profit‑and‑loss statement.
In June 2025, comprehensive income exceeded net profit by ₹44.90 crore. That excess narrowed to ₹25.94 crore in the March 2026 quarter, and to only ₹1.78 crore in the June 2026 quarter. The steep year‑on‑year decline in comprehensive income was therefore driven almost entirely by this non‑profit component, not by weaker operating performance.
Intellect Design Arena recorded another period of year‑on‑year revenue and net‑profit growth, with sales expanding about 20% compared with June 2025. The quarter did not sustain the sequential momentum of the previous three months, however. Revenue was essentially flat while expenses rose, compressing margins and reducing quarterly profit. While net profit grew annually, total comprehensive income dropped sharply because of a sharp reduction in items recorded outside the standard profit line.
