Revenue from operations was ₹4,214.54 crore, up ₹813.46 crore (23.9%) from the ₹3,401.08 crore reported in Q1 of FY2025-26 and ₹678.79 crore (19.2%) from ₹3,535.75 crore in Q4. The prior four quarters had kept revenue in a tight band between ₹3,401 crore and ₹3,536 crore. This quarter broke well above that range. Segment revenue matched total revenue, consistent with single-segment reporting.
Profit before tax (PBT) stood at ₹254.63 crore. Year-on-year, PBT grew 11.2% from ₹228.92 crore, but it dropped 39.5% from the preceding quarter’s ₹420.91 crore. Net profit was ₹190.94 crore, a 15.9% increase over ₹164.80 crore a year earlier but a 39.3% decline from ₹314.33 crore in Q4. The pre-tax margin narrowed to 6.0% of revenue — close to the 6.7% a year ago and far below the prior quarter’s 11.9%.
Other expenses reached ₹565.74 crore, a 31.2% jump from ₹431.10 crore in the year-ago quarter and a 17.5% increase from ₹481.39 crore in the previous quarter. This was the highest other-expense figure in the five‑quarter series, exceeding the prior peak of ₹539.50 crore in Q2 of FY2025-26. The steep rise in these costs weighed on profitability and contributed to the margin contraction.
Basic and diluted earnings per share came to ₹10.43, up from ₹9.00 a year ago but down sharply from ₹17.17 in the preceding quarter. The movement mirrored the quarter’s net profit trend.
Amara Raja Energy & Mobility recorded a sharp revenue increase that set a five‑quarter high, but profit did not keep pace. The pre-tax margin fell to 6.0% from 11.9% sequentially, largely because other expenses surged to their highest level in the period — absorbing a significant portion of the revenue gain. The quarter highlights that strong top‑line growth can be offset by rising costs, resulting in a thinner profit margin.
