## Quarterly financials

- Latest complete quarter: fy27_q1

# Revenue declines from March high; profit drops more steeply as expenses fall more slowly

Timken India’s revenue for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 was ₹943.32 crore, down 13.4% from the preceding March quarter but up 21% compared to the December quarter. Profit before tax fell 26.3% to ₹156.25 crore as total expenses declined at a slower pace than revenue. Net profit for the period was ₹119.66 crore, translating to earnings per share of ₹15.91.

## Revenue declines from March high, remains above December quarter

Revenue from operations stood at ₹943.32 crore, a sequential decrease of ₹146.51 crore from the March quarter’s ₹1,089.83 crore, which was the highest level across the three periods. The June figure was ₹163.65 crore higher than the December quarter’s ₹779.67 crore.

Other income added ₹10.73 crore, bringing total income (revenue plus other income) to ₹954.05 crore.

## Profitability: Margins compress as expenses fall more slowly than revenue

Total expenses were ₹797.81 crore, down 9.2% from the March quarter’s ₹878.61 crore. Because revenue declined 13.4%, profit before tax contracted 26.3% to ₹156.25 crore.

Profit before tax as a percentage of revenue was 16.6% in the June quarter, compared with 19.5% in March and 10.0% in December. Net profit margins followed a similar pattern: 12.7% in June, 14.5% in March, and 7.0% in December.

## Cost structure: Materials-heavy, with inventory adjustment reducing reported costs

Cost of materials consumed (₹359.07 crore) and purchases of stock in trade (₹296.60 crore) together accounted for about 82% of total expenses.

The change in inventories of finished goods, work-in-progress and stock in trade was a negative expense of ₹89.73 crore, which reduced total expenses. Without this inventory adjustment, reported expenses would have been approximately ₹887.5 crore.

Employee benefit expense was ₹49.85 crore and depreciation expense was ₹31.35 crore. Other expenses rose 3.3% sequentially to ₹149.90 crore. Finance costs were ₹0.76 crore, down from ₹0.96 crore in the March quarter.

## Tax and net profit: Lower effective tax rate cushions the decline

Tax expense was ₹36.59 crore, giving an effective tax rate of 23.4% on pre‑tax profit, compared with 25.3% in the March quarter and 30.3% in the December quarter. The lower effective rate meant net profit fell 24.4% to ₹119.66 crore, a slightly smaller drop than the 26.3% decline in pre‑tax profit.

Other comprehensive income was a negative ₹2.63 crore, resulting in total comprehensive income of ₹117.03 crore. Basic and diluted earnings per share were ₹15.91, down from ₹21.05 in the March quarter but up from ₹7.25 in the December quarter.

## Key Takeaway

Revenue declined from the March quarter’s high, while remaining above the December quarter level. Profit before tax fell more sharply than revenue because total expenses decreased at a slower pace. A negative change in inventories (which reduced reported expenses) and a lower effective tax rate helped cushion the net profit decline. Margins were lower than in the March quarter but higher than in the December quarter.
