### News Context

Schneider Electric Infrastructure reported a sharp divergence between profitability and order growth for the second quarter of FY27, ending in November 2026. The company’s net profit fell 43.2% year-on-year to ₹29.7 crore, a decline attributed to compressed margins resulting from commodity price volatility and delayed cost pass-through on legacy orders. Despite this earnings contraction, the business secured record quarterly order intake of ₹1,265 crore. This strong demand, driven by data centres, semiconductors, and grid infrastructure, pushed the total order backlog up 49.6% to ₹2,701 crore. The widening gap between current margin pressure and future order visibility highlights a transitional period where input cost headwinds are impacting near-term results while long-term demand remains robust.

- Record quarterly order intake reached ₹1,265 crore, supported by strong demand in data centres, semiconductors, and grid infrastructure.
- Order backlog expanded significantly by 49.6% to ₹2,701 crore, indicating sustained pipeline strength despite current margin pressures.

### Fundamentals

Schneider Electric Infrastructure demonstrates a trajectory of expanding top-line growth alongside recent margin compression. In Q2 FY2026-27, revenue from operations rose sequentially to ₹779 crore, up from ₹651 crore in Q1, while net profit more than doubled to ₹29.7 crore. Despite this quarterly improvement, the trailing twelve months (TTM) show a divergence: sales grew by 10% TTM, but compounded profit growth turned negative at -22%, and TTM EPS declined to ₹7.69 from ₹11.20 in Mar 2025. This suggests that while operational scale is increasing, profitability per unit has faced pressure, likely due to rising expenses which also climbed sequentially to ₹744 crore in Q2.

Financial health remains robust with strong cash generation. Cash from operating activities was ₹308 crore in Mar 2025, though it moderated to ₹224 crore in Mar 2026. The company maintains low leverage, with borrowings rising modestly from ₹575 crore to ₹633 crore over three years, against a solid equity base of ₹818 crore as of Sep 2026. Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) has softened from 41% in Mar 2025 to 30% in Mar 2026, reflecting the margin dynamics. Promoter holding is stable at 75%, while DII and FII stakes have seen gradual increases, indicating sustained institutional interest despite earnings volatility.

- Q2 FY2026-27 Revenue increased sequentially to ₹779 crore, with Net Profit rising to ₹29.7 crore, contrasting with a -22% TTM profit growth trend.
- ROCE declined to 30% in Mar 2026 from 41% in Mar 2025, signaling reduced capital efficiency amidst expense growth.
- Operating cash flow remained positive at ₹224 crore in Mar 2026, supporting an asset base expansion to ₹2,464 crore by Sep 2026.
- Promoter stake is unchanged at 75%; DIIs and FIIs have increased their holdings to 4.8% and 3.42% respectively by Sep 2026.

### Bull Case

Schneider Electric Infrastructure presents a conditional upside case anchored by record order intake and backlog growth, which may support future revenue visibility despite recent margin compression. In Q2 FY27, the company achieved a record quarterly order intake of ₹1,265 crore, while the order backlog rose 49.6% year-on-year to ₹2,701 crore. This demand surge is driven by strong interest from data centres, semiconductors, and grid infrastructure sectors. These figures suggest that current profitability pressures—stemming from commodity volatility and delayed cost pass-through on legacy orders—are likely temporary and tied to execution lags rather than weak demand. The monthly technical trend remains bullish as of November 6, 2026, offering a structural counterpoint to the daily bearish signals. Investors should monitor whether new orders translate into improved margins in subsequent quarters as cost pass-through mechanisms adjust.

- Record quarterly order intake of ₹1,265 crore in Q2 FY27 indicates robust demand across data centres, semiconductors, and grid infrastructure.
- Order backlog increased 49.6% year-on-year to ₹2,701 crore, providing potential revenue visibility for future periods.
- Monthly technical trend remains bullish as of November 6, 2026, contrasting with daily bearish indicators.
- Recent profit decline (₹29.7 crore, down 43.2%) is attributed to margin pressure and legacy order delays, not lack of new business.

### Bear Case

Schneider Electric Infrastructure faces near-term margin pressure and technical weakness despite strong order growth. Q2 FY27 net profit fell 43.2% year-on-year to ₹29.7 crore, driven by commodity price volatility and delayed cost pass-through on legacy orders. While quarterly order intake reached a record ₹1,265 crore and backlog rose 49.6% to ₹2,701 crore, these top-line gains have not yet translated into bottom-line profitability. Technically, the stock is in a bearish daily trend with the Supertrend signaling downside, and it has declined 6.7% over the past day and 16.8% over the last month. The share price closed at ₹1,060.0 on 2026-11-06, currently trading below key short-term resistance levels at ₹1,076.03 and ₹1,097.67. Investors should monitor whether the company can stabilize margins as new orders are executed or if further cost pressures erode earnings.

- Q2 FY27 net profit dropped 43.2% YoY to ₹29.7 crore due to margin compression from commodity volatility and lagged cost recovery.
- Daily technical indicators show a bearish trend; the stock is down 6.7% in one day and 16.8% over the past month, closing at ₹1,060.0.
- Short-term resistance is clustered between ₹1,076.03 (1.51% above) and ₹1,097.67 (3.55% above), limiting immediate upside potential.
- Current drawdown stands at -29.4% against a maximum historical drawdown of -36.6%, indicating elevated volatility risk.
