### Technical Outlook

KPIL closed at ₹1366.8 on 2026-11-06, marking a moderate downward gap of -0.3%. The daily technical setup is conflicted: while the price remains above key long-term moving averages (20/50 EMA, 20/200 SMA), it has broken below the daily Supertrend and the 50-period SMA, signaling weakening short-term momentum. Daily trend strength is weak (ADX 14.56), contrasting with a developing bullish weekly trend (ADX 23.38) and a bullish monthly structure. The stock trades in the upper-middle of its 20-day (+60.1%) and 252-day (+74.5%) ranges, suggesting limited upside room without a breakout. Immediate resistance lies at ₹1374.1 (pivot, +0.53%), with support at ₹1363.3 (-0.26%). Annualized volatility is elevated at +33.7%, and the current drawdown stands at -6.3% from the available high.

- Key Levels: Resistance at ₹1374.1 (+0.53%) and ₹1382.1 (+1.12%); Support at ₹1363.3 (-0.26%) and ₹1355.3 (-0.84%).
- Momentum & Volatility: Weak daily trend conviction (ADX 14.56); high annualized volatility (+33.7%) and ATR (3.25%) indicate active price swings.
- Monitoring Condition: A daily close above ₹1374.1 would confirm renewed bullish participation; a break below ₹1363.3 increases downside risk toward ₹1355.3.

### Fundamentals

Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) demonstrates a robust operational trajectory with improving earnings quality and significant balance-sheet deleveraging. For the two quarters of FY2026-27, revenue from operations grew sequentially from ₹6,408 crore to ₹7,004 crore, supported by strong year-on-year growth of 32% in the trailing twelve months ending Sep 2025. However, profitability metrics softened in Q2; Profit Before Tax fell to ₹398 crore from ₹420 crore in Q1, and Net Profit declined to ₹292 crore from ₹312 crore, resulting in a sequential drop in EPS from ₹18.16 to ₹16.92.

Financial health has strengthened markedly. Total borrowings decreased significantly, with current borrowings falling from ₹3,583 crore to ₹2,446 crore and non-current borrowings dropping sharply from ₹1,052 crore to ₹244 crore as of Sep 2026. Cash generation remains high, with Cash Flow from Operations reaching ₹1,534 crore in Mar 2026, while cash reserves more than doubled to ₹1,579 crore. The company’s working capital efficiency is notable, maintaining a negative Cash Conversion Cycle of -94 days in Mar 2026, driven by extended Days Payable (276 days). Return on Capital Employed improved to 18% in Mar 2026, up from 16% in prior years.

The key checkpoint for investors is whether KPIL can stabilize operating margins in upcoming quarters, given the recent sequential decline in pre-tax profit despite top-line growth.

- Revenue Growth: Sales rose to ₹7,004 crore in Q2 FY2026-27, continuing a strong trend with TTM sales at ₹27,380 crore and YoY growth of 32% in Sep 2025.
- Margin Pressure: Pre-tax profit and net profit declined sequentially in Q2 FY2026-27 (₹398 crore and ₹292 crore respectively), reversing the growth seen in Q1.
- Deleveraging: Total borrowings reduced substantially, with non-current borrowings plummeting to ₹244 crore and current borrowings falling to ₹2,446 crore as of Sep 2026.
- Cash & Efficiency: Cash from operations reached ₹1,534 crore in Mar 2026, and the Cash Conversion Cycle remained highly efficient at -94 days, indicating strong supplier credit utilization.

### Bull Case

Kalpataru Projects International presents a conditional upside case anchored by significant deleveraging and robust order visibility, despite near-term technical weakness. In Q2 FY27, the company reduced net debt sharply from ₹917 crore to ₹72 crore while growing net profit 20.4% year-on-year to ₹289 crore. This financial repair is underpinned by a massive order book of ₹71,846 crore as of September 30, 2026, providing long-term revenue visibility. Technically, the stock shows divergence between timeframes: while the daily trend is bearish with an ADX of 14.56, the weekly and monthly trends remain bullish, suggesting the current pullback may be short-term noise within a longer-term uptrend. The constructive thesis holds if the company sustains its debt-reduction trajectory and converts its substantial order backlog into margin-stable execution.

- Net debt fell dramatically from ₹917 crore to ₹72 crore in Q2 FY27, signaling improved balance sheet health and lower interest burden.
- Order book stands at ₹71,846 crore as of September 30, 2026, offering high visibility for future revenue generation.
- Weekly and monthly technical trends remain bullish, contrasting with the daily bearish signal, indicating potential medium-term strength.
- Net profit grew 20.4% YoY to ₹289 crore, though EBITDA margins narrowed slightly to 8.3%, requiring monitoring of cost discipline.

### Bear Case

While Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) reported improved profitability in Q2 FY27, several operational and market signals warrant caution. The consolidated EBITDA margin narrowed from 8.6% to 8.3%, indicating that cost pressures or pricing dynamics are outpacing revenue growth of 7.3%. On the technical front, daily momentum indicators show a bearish supertrend direction with the minus DI (24.21) exceeding the plus DI (23.9), suggesting short-term selling pressure. Furthermore, the stock is trading within a current drawdown of -6.3% against a maximum historical drawdown of -36.0%, highlighting significant volatility risk. Although the monthly trend remains bullish, the immediate daily setup reflects weakness, with resistance identified just 0.53% above the current price at ₹1,374.1.

- EBITDA margin contraction: Consolidated EBITDA margin fell to 8.3% in Q2 FY27 from 8.6% in the prior year quarter, despite revenue growth.
- Daily technical weakness: Daily supertrend is bearish with minus DI (24.21) higher than plus DI (23.9), signaling short-term downside momentum.
- Elevated volatility profile: The stock carries an annualized volatility of +33.7% and has experienced a maximum drawdown of -36.0% historically.
- Near-term resistance proximity: A pivot resistance level exists at ₹1,374.1, only 0.53% above the recent close of ₹1,366.8.
